US Woman Sick With COVID-19 For Four Months

Susie Goulding is sick and tired of COVID-19. Literally.

Goulding has been sick — and exhausted — for 18 weeks and is what’s known as a “long-hauler” in the COVID-19 battle. She spends her days feeling weak, dizzy and without energy and experiencing what she calls brain fog — she can’t think straight.

During our conversation, Goulding paused often as the word she was after escaped her.

Goulding doesn’t want your sympathy. She wants awareness and government-funded research into the type of horrible, dragged-out COVID-19 illness she and thousands of others are experiencing. In a recent letter to Minister of Health Patty Hajdu and a dozen other officials, Goulding wrote:

“We are asking the government to provide funds for research and rehabilitation. We need access to accurate testing. Resolved cases are grossly understated to the public … and what you aren’t making clear is the definition of resolved. You are suggesting that with a negative test you are all of a sudden cured where this is clearly not the case. The public needs to be made aware that many cases of Covid have lingering effects.”
