Tessa Deak (20 years old) and Shanae Coppick (19 years old) live with chronic illness everyday.

Based in Mount Gambier, South Australia, these two friends have used their lived experiences to powerful effect — to raise awareness about chronic diseases and the isolation and troubles they can bring.

Last weekend, Shanae and Tessa (along with their local committee) ran the second Mount Gambier Wellness and Wellbeing Festival with a big turnout despite the inclement weather.

They sat down with Michael Mackenzie to discuss the impact of community support on the Limestone Coast and what they both confront every day.
