'Fibro friends' Claire Flack and Tracey Power set up fibromyalgia support group in Elsenham

Claire Flack was convinced doctors thought she was a “fruit loop” as she desperately sought a diagnosis for a frightening set of symptoms which have devastated her health.

Over the past 18 months, the one-time marathon runner has been driven to the brink of a mental breakdown by her search for answers. But now there is support and solace in a new group she has set up with fellow sufferer Tracey Power.

Both women are battling a debilitating condition called fibromyalgia, which causes pain all over the body, extreme tiredness, muscle stiffness, difficulty sleeping, problems with memory and concentration known as 'fibro-fog', headaches and irritable bowel syndrome.
