Donate a dress for a good cause
Collection of dresses forms part of the Feel like a Princess campaign.
Boksburg resident Tammy Harding and her team will be collecting dresses – if it be a dress for a matric farewell, evening wear or a wedding – for people living with fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterised by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues.
Harding was diagnosed with the illness at the age of 23 years and she said it has been very difficult to manage as it comes with a lot of stress.
“I had a heart attack with the birth of my baby because I had to stop taking my medication while pregnant. It is genetic, my mother is also diagnosed with it. It’s really a roller coaster ride that I wish on no one.
“I have been sick for two years again. Due to this reason, I won’t be able to go back into the ‘normal’ workspace very soon, so have decided to raise awareness and funds for those suffering due to the illness.”
