David Tuller, PhD, is an investigative journalist and Senior Fellow in Public Health in Journalism at the Center of Global Public Health, University of California, Berkeley. Editor and journalist and at the San Francisco Chronicle for ten years, David also writes about health issues for The New York Times.
Globally, David has been the public voice of debunking the controversial ‘PACE’ trial (The Lancet, 2011), which has been hugely influential in potentially harmful recommendations of Graded Exercise Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as a treatment, and even cure, for up to 20 million people worldwide with ME/CFS (aka Chronic Fatigue Syndrome).
Crowdfunding has brought David to Australia to meet with biomedical researchers and sufferers to learn of our local context. In Canberra he has been advocating and lobbying to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and the Chief Medical Officer as current Australian treatment guidelines are up to 16 years old and continue to recommend exercise and CBT as treatment and to require it before qualifying for a Disability Support Pension.
David's original 2015 exposé on PACE’s published ‘positive trial outcomes’, based on fraudulent data manipulation, was 15,000 words and he has written extensively on the failure of ‘science’ since on Virology Blog: http://www.virology.ws/mecfs/
