EPA pesticides review

January 10, 2005

EPAOn behalf of the Society, Secretary Peter Mitchell recently made a submission to the EPA Consultation on Code of Practice – Pesticide Use.

The Society is attempting to improve its profile in relation to multiple chemical sensitivity, from which a number of people with CFS suffer. We particularly want to make an impact at government level, and push for a community change in attitude and behaviour concerning uses and abuses of chemicals.

We responded to two critical sections of the consultation: Section 5, which deals with a summary of pesticide regulation in SA; and Section 6, key principles for environmentally sound pesticide use.
