Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation “85 Days of Giving”
Tuesday 1 July 2008: Nominate ME/CFS Victoria as your favourite charity in the Lord Mayor’s “85 Days of Giving” for the Society to be in the running for one of 85 grants of $3,000 being given away.

“Doc Talk” phone link-up
Sunday 23 December 2007: On Tuesday 27 November 2007, a two-hour teleconference for General Practitioners was convened by ME/CFS Australia (Victoria).

Victorian Companion Card
Monday 17 December 2007: Victorians with a disability may be eligible for a Victorian Companion Card.

By Laws for Victorian Society
Monday 3 December 2007: Victorian members will realise that as part of the Constitutional changes, Rule 37 enables the Committee to develop By Laws to give better effect to the rules and for the proper and effective administration of the Society.

Part-time position vacant
Tuesday 13 November 2007: A position is vacant for the part-time Community Development Officer for the Care and Crisis Support Service based in Burwood.

Link Up Plus Project
Tuesday 6 November 2007: This project has been running for almost 12 months and is about to come to an end. Again it has proved a valuable communication tool for members who are housebound and feel isolated.

1400 Victorian GPs to receive the Canadian Overview document
Tuesday 6 November 2007: ME/CFS Australia (Victoria) has funded the printing and distribution of the Canadian Overview document to be included into the Satchel which is distributed to every GP who attends the GPCE over the weekend of the 16-18 November in Melbourne.

Victorian funding update
Tuesday 6 November 2007: Over the past 12 months ME/CFS Australia (Victoria) has been successful in obtaining funds from philanthropic trusts and others to assist the Society in providing much needed assistance to those with ME/CFS.

Federal Election Watch: Update on MPs’ response to letters sent by Victoria
Tuesday 6 November 2007: Since sending letters to the Victorian and Tasmanian Federal members of Parliament – and the Ministers involved – an election has been called.

Victorian Society has a new operating name
Monday 5 November 2007: Following the Special General Meeting held on 28 October 2007 and the subsequent approval being received from Consumer Affairs Victoria, the Victorian Society will now operate as “ME/CFS Australia (Victoria)”.

Federal Election Watch: Simon Molesworth letter to MPs
Monday 29 October 2007: On Tuesday 9 October 2007 the Victorian President, Simon Molesworth, sent this letter and attachment to 66 Federal MPs in Victoria and Tasmania in the Senate and House of Representatives.

Social Support and Fibromyalgia Research
Tuesday 23 October 2007: A new research study focusing on fibromyalgia is underway at Victoria University.

Federal Election Watch: Key Issues in ME/CFS in Australia
Tuesday 9 October 2007: This paper has been developed over the past twelve months by Jim Chambers, Pres of the Victorian Society, as a document to send to the Federal Health Minister on behalf of the national body.
