Former dancer and elected deputy Betty Gerónimo confessed that she is fighting a battle against fibromyalgia, a disease that she has been suffering from for 12 years and has no cure.

“I want to confess that I have been fighting a battle for 12 years, suffering from fibromyalgia for 12 years. A silent disease, but very painful. A chronic disease that exists, which affects 90% women, gives men, but 90% is young, active women”, revealed the deputy through a video on her Instagram account.

Gerónimo said that the origin of the disease is unknown, but that it is very painful: “It is a disease that when I get those crises, because they give me crises, in addition to rheumatic crises, they give me inexplicable pain. And pains that ask you where it hurts and everything hurts”.
