New Test Could Revolutionise Diagnosis Of Chronic FatigueSaturday 1 June 2019
New test could revolutionise diagnosis of chronic fatigue Aimee De Lurant's battle with chronic fatigue syndrome often leaves her bed ridden, unable to concentrate or even move. The 25-year-old can't work and has a limited social life as a result of the condition, which at its worst causes symptoms including excruciating pain and extreme exhaustion. "I can't get out of bed, I can't lift my head up. I have to be in a darkened room. The lowest setting on an iPhone brightness is too bright," said Ms De Lurant. On Sunday, 12 May the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) joined a global day of action campaign to raise awareness and funding for Dr Michael Musker's research studies in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS).
