OHSU offers chronic pain guidelines for opioids

Oregon Health & Science Universitykgw.com reports that “A new guideline for treating chronic pain with opioid medications normally reserved for cancer patients has been published with recommendations from Oregon Health & Science University researchers.”

It also adds that “After two years of study by OHSU researchers, an expert panel concluded that opioid pain medications are safe and effective for carefully selected, well-monitored patients who suffer from chronic non-cancer pain.”
